what size trailer hitch does an 2006 chevy silverado have?
I want to get a trailer hitch cover for my boyfriend and he has a 2006 chevy silverado LT, it seems like as Im looking online most of them come in the 2 inch size but I cant measure it without him knowing it, please help.
Receiver (or Reese) hitches come in two sizes. Two inch & a smaller one, say 1-7/8 inch (I'm not sure). Full size trucks always have a 2 inch. The smaller one is used on cars / small SUV's. The size refers to the weight capacity of the hitch. A class I would be the smaller one. A full size truck would be a class II or III. A class IV is a fifth wheel or gooseneck ( the trailer has a big arm that comes down / hooks on INSIDE of the truck bed. A class V is a kingpin ( semi trailer). Full size trucks usually would have a class III hitch, even if the truck can only take a class II weight rating. You know, one hitch, to cover all models, that take the same size / style of hitch.
So, the hitch you want is a 2 inch.
