What size/type of fifth wheel hitch will I need for a 34 ft camper trailer?
I found one on craigslist but I don't know if this is what I need .
Here it is http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/pts/167…
here are the specs on my trailer
length 34 feet
dry hitch Wt 1967
uvw 9217
ncc 1783 can someone please help me?
It's the truck that has to match the hitch. A 1/2 ton will not be able to carry that much weight. A short bed will have to have a slide hitch or it will not turn with out hitting the cab. Best to go to a camper store and see what they say needs to be used.

Wheel chocks for trailers one size doesn't always fit all
Wheel chocks are more often purchased in mining, construction or fire engines for use on an industry vehicle, yet having chocks for a trailer is just as important. A heavy trailer, attached to a truck, can be a huge pull to the vehicle, and even if the front of the trailer has been disconnected from the ball hitch of the truck it is at risk. Sometimes the hitch will be placed on a piece of rock or wood temporarily, and the potential for a roll away trailer is there. Another type of trailer with an even greater capacity to roll away because it has four to eight wheels is a travel trailer. This is a much heavier trailer, and while it would not necessarily spill anything off of it, it could ruin the interior and people and property that it runs into.
Loading Trailer Wheel Chocks
The variety of work trailers is incredibly long, but whether a business uses a flatbed trailer, a drop deck, side dump or utility trailer, they can all use wheel chocks. They can be used in the same way as on a truck or other work vehicle, with the wheels at a complete stop, yet there is no engine or parking brake as on a transmission vehicle. The best idea is to stop, park and brake the truck, chock it, and then chock the trailer in the direction of the grade. If the trailer is particularly heavy and the load exceeds the capacity for one set of chocks, use them on both the truck and the trailer for safety reasons.
Travel Trailer Wheel Chocks
A travel trailer, when parked for the evening will most likely spend the night on a level campground. While traveling, however, there may be a point when the trailer and the vehicle pulling it are left on an incline in a parking lot or on the side of the road. Again, the stop, park and brake rule would apply for the pulling vehicle, followed up by the trailer chocking.
Types of Wheel Chocks for Both
RIM or recycled rubber chocks will be much more efficient because they will not leave a mark on any road surface or on the truck tire. Metal wheel chocks have the capacity to scratch or put an indent in soft asphalt in the south, and even the tire if the chocks are not taken care of properly.
Trailer wheel chocks may not be as commonly seen or used, but their protection from a loading or travel trailer from rolling is important in keeping property and people in their path safe.
