trailer hitch sizes

how to adapt a 11/4" trailer hitch to 2"?
My trailer hitch is 1 1/4" and I want to buy a cargo hauler that is made for a 2" receiver. Is there a product or a way to adapt to fit that size?
thanks ucantcme,
pefect solution.
Most of the hitch companies make an adapter that is made for just applications like bike racks and such. Auto parts stores often stock them, if they dont they can for sure order them. They are sort of expensive but if you already have the hitch and the rack it sometimes makes sense. Pay attention to the weight capacity. Using the adapter often reduces the capacity even below the 1 1/4 rating. You will for sure no be able to use the full rating of the rack. IF you need the weight capacity you should look into getting a 2" receiver for your car or truck. In some cases that could be cheaper than the adapter.
