just had over 40 villa board sheets on the top racks (1200 x 3000), not sure the weight of the sheets but let me say that my back mud flaps were scraping along the ground and tyres were flattned by half way , tow bar was inches of the ground ( and ive got heavy duty shocks)

the car had absolutly no problem carrying this load, it was not street driving but manuvering on a job site mainly at 5 to 10 k an hour, i know the clutch would of had a work out (coudlnt smell it though) but other then that it done the job with ease.

my question is : can a 4 cylinder petrol normaly cope with these extreme loads or am i asking for trouble?

ofcourse i could get V6 or a diesel with a 3 ton towing capacity . but this ute is still going.......for now ha!
