What is the best way to seal a concrete floor if I want to preserve the "natural character" of the concrete?

I am planning on sealing the concrete in my kitchen floor & would like to know what sealant will be best. I would like to preserve the "natural aggregate look" of my concrete while providing a quality seal that will help the concrete stay clean & last for years to come. Since this will eventually be a rental property having it be low maintenance is also important. I also prefer a matte finish as opposed to glossy. Thanks for your help!

If I were you, I would call the pros. Make a call to the concrete people and ask them for their advise. They know their product best and can recommend a product that suits your needs. You may need to get a commercial sealer as a kitchen is a high traffic area and will be subject to spills and cleaning. It is important that whatever you use will not cause the floor to be super slippery when dry or wet as that liability you do not want to incur on a rental property, for sure.

Keep in mind that durability sometimes is as easy as doing the correct prep work. Find out how you clean/prep the floor to increase the longevity of the final sealant.

My personal philosophy is that there is always room for improvement. So, while your floor is still unsealed, now would be your chance to perhaps add color to the floor or maybe even a pattern. Maybe not.
